On 21 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Andalib Elias, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Thailand, upon the latter’s assumption of duty.
 
Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen relations across all areas, particularly through convening bilateral mechanisms to pave the way for high-level exchanges in 2027, marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The Deputy Prime Minister also underscored the importance of deepening economic cooperation between the two countries, including the launch of the Thailand - Bangladesh FTA negotiations and the enhancement of maritime and air connectivity to promote the transportation of goods and tourism.
 
Both sides also exchanged views on the situation and ways to support the peace process in Myanmar.
