Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a bilateral discussion with Mrs. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2024. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that, as host of the regional office of ICRC, Thailand would continue to proactively provide humanitarian support in the region, particularly, the humanitarian assistance across the border to Myanmar to which Thailand attaches high importance. In this regard, Thailand stands ready to play a constructive role and support Laos as the current Chair of ASEAN to bring ASEAN back to the leading role in promoting dialogue and reconciliation among parties in Myanmar, which would lead to peace and security, both in Myanmar and the region.
