On 20 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the latter’s visit to Thailand to chair the 82nd Session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok.

Both sides discussed potential areas of cooperation between Thailand and Azerbaijan, including in the fields of economy, trade, and investment. They exchanged views on opportunities to enhance collaboration between the two countries, especially in energy, humanitarian demining, agriculture, as well as visa facilitation and tourism. They also exchanged views on developments of various regional situations.
