On 6 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Doha, attended the ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) meeting, where the chairmanship of ACD for 2025 was officially handed over from the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore, the outgoing Chair for 2024. Following the meeting, H.E. Ambassador hosted a luncheon at his residence for ACD members and officials to mark Thailand’s assumption of the ACD chairmanship. The occasion also served to welcome H.E. Mr. Mohammad Faizal Razali, Ambassador of Malaysia, and H.E. Mr. Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, who recently assumed their respective positions.
As the Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Doha for 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy is committed to further enhancing ASEAN’s visibility in Qatar, strengthening cooperation among ASEAN member states, and fostering close collaboration between Qatar and ASEAN countries through constructive initiatives. The ACD comprises the ambassadors from 7 ASEAN member states in Doha - Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.
