On 23 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Director-General of American and South Pacific Affairs, had a meeting with H.E. Mrs. Shirley Dennise Aguilar Barrera, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to Thailand.

Ambassador of Guatemala took the opportunity to hand over a copy of the Note of H.E. Mr. Carlos Ramiro Martínez Alvarado, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, addressed to H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, reaffirming the Guatemalan side’s commitment in further enhancing Thailand – Guatemala ties and collaboration.

The meeting also discussed the workplan to promote Thailand – Guatemala relations in 2024, which includes the establishment of a political consultation mechanism and its first meeting between the two sides, a business seminar to promote Thailand – Latin America economic relations, among others.
