Director-General of TICA meets with representatives from Argentinian agencies to promote cooperation in agriculture, technological sciences and innovation

On 12 August 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with H.E. Mr. Krit Tankanarat, Ambassador of Thailand to Argentina, had a meeting with Mr. Miguel Donatelli, National Director of International Negotiations, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Livestock, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Also in attendance were Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, along with representatives from relevant Argentinian agencies, including the National Directorate of International Cooperation (DNCIN), National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), and National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (SENASA).

Both sides welcomed the successful implementation of joint projects to improve sugar cane and soybean cultivation under the Three-Year Development Cooperation Programme for 2020 - 2022 and reaffirmed their commitment to continue to expand the two projects under the new Programme for 2025 - 2027, with the aim of delivering concrete and mutually-beneficial outcomes for both countries. They also discussed the development of a new project on research and development of vaccines for Foot-and-Mouth Disease in livestock. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Livestock of Argentina responded positively to the proposal and will propose activities under the project for Thailand’s further consideration.

In addition, the delegation also met with Mr. Alberto Fohrig, Director of International Cooperation, Ministry of Security of Argentina, to discuss the implementation of the project “Forensic Anthropology Exhumation and Analysis Skills Development.” Both sides agreed on the importance of this project to improve regional security and discussed potential cooperation within other relevant areas, such as the training for utilization of digital technology to track drug-trafficking routes and digital crime.
