On 26 March 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, chaired a closed-door briefing on the humanitarian situation in Myanmar by Mr. Arnaud Edward de Baecque, Resident Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Myanmar.
The ICRC assessed the humanitarian situation in Myanmar and exchanged views with relevant Thai agencies on collaboration in the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar and on issues related to international humanitarian law.
The closed-door briefing was organized following the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Resident Representative of ICRC in Myanmar with the objective of assessing the humanitarian situation on the ground for Thai agencies in their respective engagements with Myanmar. Also in attendance were representatives from relevant Thai agencies; namely, Ministry of Public Health, Office of the National Security Council, Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, Royal Thai Army, and the Judge Advocate General’s Department, as well as relevant Departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
