On 29 September 2023, Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a virtual call with Ambassador Sarah Bianchi, Deputy U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), to discuss cooperation under Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF).
 
On this occasion, the Deputy USTR thanked Thailand for hosting IPEF Negotiating Round in Bangkok between 10-16 September 2023. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the good progress made on the ongoing IPEF negotiations. Both sides  exchanged views on driving forward IPEF Trade Pillar and preparation for next steps of cooperation. The Deputy Minister also reiterated Thailand’s commitment to working closely with IPEF Partners Countries to advance IPEF negotiations toward tangible outcomes for the benefit of the people in the region.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of cooperative projects, particularly technical assistance and economic cooperation in order to ensure capacity building for each Partner Countries toward sustainable and inclusive growth for the region.
