On 16 March 2026, Mr. Vorapun Srivoranart, Deputy Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs, attended the 1st Policy Focus Group on “Strengthening Thailand-Maritime Southeast Asia Relations through Energy Security and Regional Connectivity.“

The Policy Focus Group was co-organized by the International Studies Center (ISC) and the Department of East Asian Affairs. Dr. Bank Ngamarunchot, Director of Science Technology and Innovation Policy Institute (STIPI) at KMUTT and Mr. Suppawit Kaewkhunok, Centre Manager of the Knowledge hub for Regional Anti-corruption and good governance Collaboration (KRAC), Chulalongkorn University, and Researcher at China Institute for Studies in Energy Policy, Xiamen University, shared their assessment on the current situation, opportunities, and challenges in regional energy security, as well as strategies for advancing bilateral relations between Thailand and ASEAN coastal countries.

The ISC Policy Focus Group serves as an "outside-in" platform for exchanging views and information between academic experts and ministry officials on specific policy issues or regions.
