On 18 December 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 7th Thailand - China Strategic Dialogue with H.E. Mr. Sun Weidong, Vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides reaffirmed their close relations and discussed cooperation to further enhance Thailand - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership (CSCP), including exchanges of high-level visits in 2025, as the two countries will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. They also followed up on the discussions between the Prime Minister and Premier Li Qiang of China, as well as President Xi Jinping of China. The issues include, among others, stepping up economic cooperation, in particular market access for Thai products in China, promotion of investment in future-oriented industries, enhancing quality and standard of investment; science, technology, and innovation, education and culture. They also discussed enhancing people exchanges, tourism, and cooperation on soft power and creative economy.

In addition, both sides discussed regional cooperation, in particular combatting transnational crimes, ASEAN – China relations, and closer cooperation under the Mekong - Lancang Cooperation (MLC), which Thailand and China will serve as co-chairs for another year in 2025.  They also exchanged views on international developments, including Myanmar, the South China Sea, and the Middle East.
