On 8 December 2022, Dr. Chitriya Pinthong, a committee of CSCAP Association Thailand, joined the panel discussion on ASEAN Centrality and Security Challenges in Southeast Asia during the 13th CSCAP General Conference at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta. She highlighted the contribution of ASEAN-led mechanisms in managing great power relations in the region and the need for joint efforts between ASEAN and dialogue partners to address non-traditional security issues that affect people's lives and can be a source of conflict in the future.

The General Conference was attended by more than 100 participants from CSCAP member institutions, including Prof. Suchit Bunbongkan, President of CSCAP Thailand, as well as Dato Paduka Lim Jock Hoi, the ASEAN Secretary General.

Established in 1993, CSCAP functions as an informal mechanism for scholars and interested persons to discuss regional political and security issues and challenges. CSCAP also provides policy recommendations to intergovernmental organizations, holds regional and international conferences as well as builds networks with other institutions and organizations to exchange information and experience on regional political and security cooperation.
