On July 25, 2024, Ms. Bacharee Puengpak, Deputy Director General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a celebration of Colombia's independence, which reached the 214th anniversary this year, at The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage. This event, organized by the Embassy of Colombia in Thailand, also included a distinguished music performance featuring Colombian artist Ms. Diana Burco.

The Deputy Director General extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Colombia on this auspicious occasion. She emphasized Thailand's dedication to deepening the bilateral relationship, particularly in trade and investment. This year has seen a remarkable 52% increase in trade between Thailand and Colombia compared to the same period last year (January - May). Additionally, she highlighted Thailand's new visa exemption policy, allowing Colombian to enter Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days. This initiative aims to boost tourism, stimulate the economy, and further strengthen people-to-people connections between the two countries.
