On 23 March 2023, Mr. Derek Chollet, Counsellor of the U.S. Department of State, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, during his visit to Thailand on 22-23 March 2023. H.E. Mr. Robert F. Godec, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, Mrs. Pornpimol Kanchanalak, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Director General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs also attended the said meeting.
 
Both sides discussed ways to further enhance Thailand-U.S. cooperation, in line with the Thailand-U.S. Communique on Strategic Alliance and Partnership, as well as the progress made in all areas of cooperation, especially on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of Thailand-U.S. diplomatic relations this year (2023). Both sides also exchanged views on important regional developments, including the situation in Myanmar.
