On January 1st 2025, Consul-General Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Deputy Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Consul Urasee Thiratangsathira Jeong, along with Mrs. Suprattana Gamolvej, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Chicago, Ms. Anoma Vongyai, Director and Mrs.Sirima Yuviengjaya Deputy Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chicago Office, participated in almsgiving and merit-making ceremonies to usher in the New Year 2025 with the Thai community in Chicago at Wat Dhammaram.
Later in the afternoon, the Consul-General delivered opening remarks for the New Year’s celebration and joined in singing New Year’s songs and participating in activities organized by the Thai community in Chicago, including presenting the Man of the Year Award 2024 to Mr. Samroeng Pitikawong. Furthermore, the Royal Thai Consulate General presented a check to the Southern Association of Illinois to support the participation of the “Skokie Thai Festival 2025.”
