On April 18, 2025, Consul-General Katanawadee Kalayanamit and Deputy Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai awarded
initial support funds to selected candidates of the “Scientific Soft Power 2025” project. The recipients were 1. Dr. Theinchai Pasurakul from
the University of Illinois Chicago, 2. Ms. Boonyarak Chuanchit from Northern Illinois University and 3. Ms. Pattiya Pibulchinda from Northwestern University.
During the same occasion, the Consul-General and Deputy Consul-General engaged in discussions with the candidates about their work plans and exchanged views on emerging technologies and best practices in the Midwest. The selected candidates will present their final projects at the Consulate-General on June 21, 2025, when the awardees will also be officially announced.
