On 24 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Mauro Luiz Iecker Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, on the sideline of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.

The two sides discussed ways to promote exchanges of high-level visits and enhance bilateral cooperation in the political and economic spheres, and strengthen people-to-people ties in recognition of Brazil’s role as a middle power with the largest economy in Latin America, and Thailand’s leading trading partner in the region.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional situations and cooperation in ASEAN and multilateral forums, in which the Thai side reiterated the commitment to work closely with Brazil and external partners to uphold the rules-based international order amidst the changing global landscape.
