On 8 February 2022, H.E. Ms. Muna Abbas Mahmood Radhi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand on the occasion of the assumption of duty on 8 February 2022.

Both sides shared common view on the extraordinary bond of friendship between Thailand and Bahrain. Thailand and Bahrain will increase cooperation in the 4 strategic areas including trade and investment, food security, public health, and energy. Both sides also agreed to support each other in multilateral fora, such as Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and ASEAN.

On this occasion, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand also expressed his appreciation to the late Prime Minister of Bahrain for his crucial role in contributing to the normalisation of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
