On 18 December 2023, H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bhahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Kulit Sombatsiri, Advisor to the Prime Minister, attended the Asia Zero Community (AZEC) Leaders Meeting at Prime Minister Office of Japan.

Mr. Kulit, on behalf of the Thai government, delivered remarks to highlight Thailand’s commitment to enhancing cooperation on energy transition to achieve its carbon neutrality goals in 2050. Thailand also encouraged the Japanese private sector to collaborate in developing clean technologies as well as energy transition projects with a view to ensure its energy sector is in line with green growth.

AZEC, initiated by Prime Minister Kishida, brings together partner countries in Asia to drive the development of innovations aimed at reducing carbon emissions, as well as promoting energy transition in order to achieve carbon neutrality goals in the region.
