H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, is scheduled to attend the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits via videoconference on 26-28 October 2021.
This series of meetings mark the conclusion of Brunei Darussalam's role as ASEAN Chair for 2021 in advancing the ASEAN Community-buiding process under the theme “We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper”, before handing over the ASEAN Chairmanship to Cambodia as the incoming Chair of ASEAN in 2022.
Apart from attending the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits, the Prime Minister will participate in the Related Summits with Leaders of Dialogue Partners of ASEAN, namely China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Australia, the United States, Russia and New Zealand.
Discussions at the Summits will focus on promoting cooperation to address COVID-19 and its impacts, post-COVID-19 recovery, ASEAN Community building, as well as key regional and global developments.
