On 29 April 2025, Mr. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, attended ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting (ASEAN SOM) and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur in order to prepare for the upcoming 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits during 26-27 May 2025.

Related Meetings include the Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon Free Zone Commission (SEANWFZ ExCom), and the 18th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Council Working Group (ACCWG) on Timor-Leste’s Application for ASEAN Membership.
