The ASEAN Day celebration was held on 8 August 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to commemorate the 57th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN with the participation of representatives from diplomatic missions of ASEAN Member States and partner countries of ASEAN as well as teachers and students from the ASEAN Library network and representatives from various government agencies and private sectors.

H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiamphong, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, presided over the ASEAN flag-hoisting ceremony attended by Ambassadors or representatives of ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, and partner countries of ASEAN. The flag was hoisted by students from Phratamnuk Suankularb School and Chitralada School while the ASEAN anthem was performed by Thai musician “Fino the Ranad” on Ranad, a traditional Thai xylophone .

The Ministry also organized the ASEAN Quiz 2024 competition, with first prize won by students from Mater Dei School, first runners-up from Sacred Heart Convent School and  second runners-up from Piriyalai School of Phrae Province.

In addition, the Department of Public Relations and the Embassies of ASEAN Member States in Thailand set up exhibition booths to share knowledge related to ASEAN to participants.
