On 29 January 2024, His Excellency Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Mr. Sok Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat) in Luang Prabang, the Lao PDR.
Both sides discussed the latest progress of issues agreed upon by Prime Ministers of Thailand and Cambodia, including border trade, tourism cooperation, humanitarian demining along the Thai-Cambodian border, combating cyber scams, and transboundary haze pollution, in preparation for the upcoming official visit to Thailand of the Prime Minister of Cambodia.
The Cambodian side also expressed support for Thailand’s initiative to scale up humanitarian assistance for the Myanmar people near the Thai-Myanmar border, which is part of ASEAN’s collective effort to advance the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus.
