On 17 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Patricio Powell Osorio, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, upon the Ambassador’s assumption of duty.

On this occasion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further advance the dynamism of the Thailand - Chile relations and agreed to push forward the 7th Meeting of Thailand – Chile Political Consultations, to be hosted by Chile this year, in order to achieve tangible outcome. They also shared common interest in further enhancing cooperation in all areas of mutual benefit, particularly in the promotion of high-level contacts, exchange of visits of government and business delegations, economic cooperation both in terms of trade and investment, scientific cooperation (including green hydrogen and astronomy), multilateral cooperation and people-to-people contacts.
