On 30 July 2024, Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives of the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to the UN in New York visited the Department of Corrections’ Central Women Correctional Institution in Bangkok to learn about the implementation of the UN Bangkok Rules for the appropriate treatment of female prisoners. The dignataries also visited Wat Chak Daeng in Samut Prakarn Province, which has developed to a comprehensive community waste management learning center in the present.

The visiting dignitaries arrived in Thailand on 28 July 2024 and commence the study visit with a cultural tour in Bangkok.
