Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico attended a meeting with private sector representatives of Guadalajara of Jalisco State

On 24 August 2021, H.E. Mr. Paisan Rupanichakij, Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico, attended a meeting organized by Mr. Jose Guillermo Romo Romero, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Guadalajara, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s visit to Guadalajara on 23-26 August 2021 as part of the Royal Thai Embassy's Economic Roadshow Project.

The meeting was participated by public and private sector representatives of Guadalajara, such as, the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Jalisco, the President of the Mexican Business Council for International Trade Investment and Technology for the Western Region of Mexico (COMCE OCCIDENTE) and local entrepreneurs from various fields such as automotive, textile, and agriculture.

The Ambassador was informed about the economic potential of Jalisco State and its capital city, Guadalajara, which is the second largest city in the country after Mexico City. Jalisco also has important industries, especially electronics and automotive. It has good infrastructure and logistics system, as well as quality human capital, in addition to its location not far from the US.

Jalisco State is therefore an important destination for foreign investment in Mexico. Both sides agreed to jointly promote cooperation in various fields such as electronics, automobiles, jewelry, agricultural products, tourism. including the exchange of visits between the private sectors.

The group of Jalisco business representatives has a plan to visit Vietnam and India at the end of January 2022. After this meeting with the Thai Ambassador, the group is interested to include Thailand in their upcoming visit to Asia.

After the meeting, the Ambassador was invited to attend a press conference with the Honorary Consul of Thailand in Guadalajara and the President of COMCE (OCCIDENTE).

In the afternoon, the Honorary Consul of Thailand in Guadalajara hosted a luncheon in honor of the Ambassador which was also attended by high-level representatives from the public and private sectors, such as the Minister of Science and Technology of the State of Jalisco and the president of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce of Guadalajara.
