On 27 September 2024, H.E. Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, attended the 16th ASEAN-Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Ministerial Meeting on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79) in New York.

The meeting exchanged ideas on ways forward in deepening inter-regional cooperation in the areas such as enhancing physical and economic connectivity, digital economy, green transition, infrastructure development and support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In this regard, Thailand aligned with the call for more cooperation in food security, halal industry, and business-to-business and people-to-people exchanges.
