On 13 June 2022, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Benyamina and H.E. Mr. Amar Belani, Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, during their visit to Thailand between 12-14 June 2022.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the progress made on the bilateral relations and discussed ways to elevate relations and promote cooperation in key areas, such as trade, investment, energy as well as cooperation in international fora. The Algerian side complimented Thailand on her success in economic development and the approach of Thailand’s balanced foreign policy.

Thailand and Algeria establised diplomatic relations in 1975. Both countries have maintained good relations and exchanged support in international fora. Algeria is one of the important sources of energy of Thailand and also ranks as Thailand’s 6th trading partner in African region.
