​On 2 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 24th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) in Brussels, Belgium.

​On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted three areas in advancing the ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership: (1) supporting the EU's constructive role in fostering inclusive dialogue to build trust and confidence based on the principle of ASEAN centrality to promote regional peace; (2) enhancing partnership in connectivity in all dimensions, from transport infrastructure to digital technologies, to move towards a comprehensive Thai-EU FTA, as well as a future ASEAN-EU FTA; and (3) promoting partnership on sustainability to accelerate SDGs implementation and tackle climate change.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister also stressed Thailand's commitment to scaling up the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar. Thailand looked forward to the EU’s support for Thailand’s humanitarian initiative, which can serve as a small step towards dialogue and constructive engagement among all sides in Myanmar as well as between Myanmar and the international community.

The Meeting also issued a joint statement to reaffirm the shared commitment to advancing ASEAN-EU relations in the future. The 24th AEMM meeting was attended by foreign ministers of ASEAN and EU Member States, as well as the EU's High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and the Vice President of the European Commission(HR/VP) and the Secretary-General of ASEAN.
