On 7 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, in her capacity as Thailand's APEC Senior Official, accompanied H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, to the Opening Ceremony of the Third APEC Business Advisory Council Meeting 2026 (ABAC3/2026) at the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel.
 
The Prime Minister underscored ABAC’s vital role in conveying the perspectives and recommendations of the business sector into public policymaking, highlighting the essential contributions of the private sector in driving economic growth across the region. He reaffirmed the Thai Government's commitment to maintaining close dialogue with the business community and translating ABAC's recommendations into concrete action. Thailand is currently advancing the Thailand FastPass initiative to streamline administrative procedures and facilitate investment, making approval processes faster, more transparent, and more predictable. Thailand continues to support the conclusion of high-quality free trade agreements to strengthen business confidence, promote trade and investment, and foster an enabling environment for sustainable growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
 
The ABAC 3/2026 took place in Bangkok from 6 - 9 July 2026, bringing together over 200 business representatives from all 21 APEC member economies to prepare recommendations for submission to APEC Leaders at the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, scheduled to be held in November 2026 in Shenzhen, the People’s Republic of China.
