Thailand Chairs the First Asia Cooperation Dialogue Senior Officials' Meeting Under its 2025 Chairmanship

On 6 February 2025, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, chaired the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Senior Officials' Meeting (ACD SOM) 2025, marking the beginning of Thailand’s Chairmanship year, with in-person participation of H.E. Mr. Nasser Riden Thamer Al-Motairi, ACD Secretary General, and virtual attendance from 35 ACD Member States.

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship’s theme of "Fostering Asia's Sustainable Development and Future through Innovation," prioritising the strengthening of ACD cooperation across key sectors, including sustainable development, finance, digital transformation, tourism, and education. Thailand presented the year's key activities highlighting the ACD High-Level Conference on Global Financial Architecture and 20th ACD Ministerial Meeting.

On the same occasion, the ACD Secretary General visited Thailand during 5 - 7 February 2025, on the Ministry’s invitation, during which he held bilateral meetings with high-level officials of various agencies, including the Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports and the President of Siam University with the aim of advancing diverse ACD cooperation initiatives.
