On 3 October 2025, Mrs. Khrongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, attended a reception on the occasion of the accession to the throne of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The reception was hosted by the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Thailand at the Ambassador’s Residence. The Director-General presented flowers to the Ambassador, conveying congratulations on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Kingdom of Thailand have enjoyed longstanding relations for over 66 years, since the establishment of diplomatic ties on 16 June 1959. Both countries have continued to maintain close relations at all levels. Most recently, Thailand’s Sovereign Sustainability Bond (SSB) was listed for the second time on the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX) on 12 September 2025, making Thailand the first ASEAN member state to have its sovereign bond listed on Luxembourg’s green exchange.
