On 17 December 2024, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the 7th Ministerial Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), hosted online by Azerbaijan.

The Vice Minister, in his statement, reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment towards CICA and highlighted the country’s active role as the coordinator for Sustainable Development and co-coordinator for SMEs Development, with various training courses being organised to promote capacities of CICA member states. He also emphasized Thailand’s proactive role in regional and multilateral cooperation, especially as the current Chairman of BIMSTEC and the founder and incoming Chair of ACD. In addition, the Vice Minister also took this opportunity to congratulate Azerbaijan on assuming the CICA Chairmanship for the term 2024-2026.
