          On 1 August 2019, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. A.K. Abdul Momen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on the sidelines of the 52nd  ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Post Ministerial Conferences, and Related Meetings.
 
At the meeting, both sides discussed the issue of displaced persons from Rakhine State in Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi side expressed optimism to the visit of Permanent Secretary of Myanmar to Bangladesh and appreciation to Thailand as the Chair of ASEAN for her active role in supporting efforts to address the issue continuously.  
 
          Furthermore, both sides discussed the issues of mutual interest on bilateral trade, investment promotion and regional cooperation. Both sides agreed on the importance of achieving more balanced trade, and encouraged the exchanges of visit between the private sectors of both countries in order to enhance business networks and explore mutual economic opportunities. The Bangladeshi side also expressed satisfaction for a significant number of Thai investment in Bangladesh, and invited more Thai companies to invest in Bangladesh especially in the agricultural goods processing sector. In addition, both sides agreed to further strengthen regional cooperation under the BIMSTEC framework.
