H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Poland, participated in the 6^th International Asian Congress during 15 – 17 May 2019 in Torun. The Congress is one of the well renowned platforms in Poland for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Europe and Asia in the fields of politics economy society science and environment with a view to fostering interactions and mutual understanding between the two regions. This year, over 500 participants from various fields attended the Congress. Ambassador Sansanee was invited to delivered a remarks at the opening of the Congress on the topic of “Power of Asia: State, Society, Economy” from the perspective of Thailand. Her Excellency highlighted the determination of the Thai Government to move the country forward for sustainable development with stability, dynamic economy driven by innovation with Thailand being a gateway for trade and investment of the region. Such sustainability can be achieved as guided by the principle of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. Promotion of sustainability is also a priority for Thailand’s Chairmanship of ASEAN this year as reflected by the theme “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability” and can be one of the areas where ASEAN can further enhance cooperation with other regions including Europe.
