H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, hosted a welcoming dinner in honour of H.E. Mr. Dionísio Babo Soares, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, and his delegation on 28 May 2019 during their visit to Thailand to attend the 75^th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) during 27 - 31 May 2019.

Both Foreign Ministers discussed development cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels as well as global issues of mutual interest, including climate change, environmental degradation, reduction in the use of plastic, rising sea level, poverty, and malnutrition. The Timorese side expressed their appreciation for the Royal Project on “School Lunch Programme” initiated by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in the rural areas of Timor-Leste. Both Ministers also discussed Timor-Leste’s application for ASEAN membership.
