                   On 15 May 2019, Miss Sweeya Santipitaks, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, attended the MoU signing ceremony to set up an Artificial Intelligence (AI) learning centre as Guest of Honour, at Sister Nivedita University. The said MoU was the collaboration between Sister Nivedita University (under Techno India Group) and Motes and Bots Technologies company, at Sister Nivedita University, New Town – Rajarhat, Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
 
                   Mr. Satyam Roychowdhury, Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University, explained the “AI: Things” Experience Zone which would integrate AI, Business Intelligence (BI), Internet of Things (IoT) and other Data Science programmes in the curriculum, as well as offer internships and traineeships to students in Thailand and India.
 
                   The Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata delivered a speech felicitating the said collaboration, which would lead to cultivation of knowledge for the future world. She expressed thanks towards the initiative which is beneficial to Thailand and Thai students, and marks a step in Thai-Indian academic collaboration. In this connection, she also mentioned how Thailand is a potential market for AI technologies, both in implementing the innovation-driven “Thailand 4.0” Policy to transform the industrial structure and landscape, and in pushing forward the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project, a 432.85 billion dollar-worth infrastructure, transport and industrial park megaproject to which AI technologies can add even more values. Besides, in Asia-Pacific, the ASEAN market also has high potentials in AI sector. According to a survey conducted by IDC, marketing analysis and IT consultancy company, Thailand is ranked as the number-two AI technology user country in Southeast Asia.
