In response to inquiries regarding the invitation of foreign representatives to the Coronation of King Rama X in May 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to convey that attendance by foreign representatives is based on past practice established by the Coronation of His late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1950, whereby the diplomatic corps in Thailand was granted an audience and invited to express their well-wishes to the King.

In this regard, the diplomatic corps has been invited to attend the Ceremony on 4 and 6 May 2019, with details as follows:

On Saturday 4 May 2019 in the morning, the Ambassador of Singapore to Thailand, as Dean of the diplomatic corps, and her spouse will be granted an audience with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun at Baisal Daksin Throne Hall and Amarindra Vinicchaya Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.  In the afternoon, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Thailand will be granted an audience with His Majesty the King at Amarindra Vinicchaya Throne Hall.

In the evening of Monday 6 May 2019, representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to Thailand, and a representative of international organisations in Thailand, will be granted an audience with His Majesty the King at Chakri Maha Prasad Throne Hall in the Grand Palace. On behalf of the diplomatic corps, the Dean will offer felicitations to His Majesty the King.  Later, there will be a reception for the diplomatic corps granted by His Majesty the King at Boromarajasathitmaholarn Hall.

Since members of the diplomatic corps will be attending the Coronation Ceremony, as representatives of their respective countries and the Thai side does not wish to inconvenience foreign dignitaries, no invitations have therefore been extended nor arrangements made for their attendance.
