1. ASEAN strongly condemns the terrorist attack at Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand on 15th March 2019,
which resulted in the loss of innocent civilian lives and multiple injuries. ASEAN extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the ictims, and wishes the injured a quick recovery.
2. ASEAN supports the efforts of the Government of New Zealand in addressing the situation and bringing the perpetrators to justice. ASEAN stands in solidarity with the Government and people of New Zealand in this difficult time. ASEAN also reiterates its strong commitment to working closely with the international community in the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whom so ever it is committed.
