Thai Students Compete in the International Universities Debating Championship 2019 in Doha

   On 18 March 2019, H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar, and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha, met with a team of university students from Thailand who competed in the 5th International Universities Debating Championship 2019 which was held at the Qatar National Convention Center in Doha. The team from Thailand was from Prince of Songkhla University, Pattani Campus, and consisted of four students, namely, Mr. Abdulhafiz Attohiree and Mr. Muhammad Supian Mamat (senior students), Miss Nida Kebbenmud (junior student), Miss Adilah Samae (freshman) and one instructor Dr. Ruzdi Tahe, Coach of the team.

            The International Universities Debating Championship 2019 (IUDC-2019) was organized by Qatar Debate, an initiative under the Qatar Foundation, to promote the use of Arabic language worldwide, foster intercultural understanding and build networking among universities providing Arabic language courses and students of Arabic language from all over the world. This year's championship is attended by 107 teams from 51 countries. The participating teams were from both Arabic and Non-Arabic speaking countries. The team from Thailand which competed for the first time this year made an outstanding performance and was scored at the 25th ranking in the preliminary round.
