Acting Consul-General Naruchai Ninnad attended the Japan-Thailand Friendship Association of Kyoto Prefectural Assembly 2019 General Meeting

          On 4 March 2019, Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, Acting Consul-General, attended the Japan-Thailand Friendship Association of Kyoto Prefectural Assembly 2019 General Meeting at Shin Miyako Hotel “Yomeiden”, Kyoto. Mr. Masaharu Murata, Chairman of the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly and Mr. Shuichi Yamauchi, Vice Governor of Kyoto Prefecture, also attended the event.

          Mr. Hiroshi Sugaya is the current Chairman of the Japan-Thailand Friendship Association of Kyoto Prefectural Assembly which is made up of 44 members of the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly. In close coooperation with the Royal Thai Consulate -General in Osaka and the Japan - Thailand Education Exchange Society, the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly has carried out several activities to promote Thailand - Japan relations. It also supports the organization of the “4th Thailand-Japan Culture Fair in Kyoto” On 14 October 2019 to promote Thailand-Japan friendship in Kyoto.                                                                                                                                                                                                           

          In his remarks during the opening session, Mr. Naruchai Ninnad emphasized the historical importance of Kyoto, its reputations on the development of new advanced technology and innovation and the success story of “Kyoto Smart City”. The Acting Consul-General recognized the important role played by Kyoto in fostering Thailand-Japan relations through bilateral cooperation in various areas and regular visits of Thai delegates to Kyoto. The successful visit to Kyoto by Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak helped strengthen the partnership in the area of investment between Thailand and Japan which reflects the close economic cooperation between Thailand and Kyoto. He also reaffirmed the Royal Thai Consulate-General’s readiness to work closely with the Japan-Thailand Friendship Association of Kyoto Prefectural Assembly to further enhance the close ties of friendship between Thailand and Japan.
