The Honourable Mrs. Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China, will pay an official visit to Thailand on 27 - 28 February 2019, as guest of H.E. Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, to witness the setting up of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Thailand.

 

      On 28 February 2019, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, and to hold a discussion with H.E. Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister, together with representatives of top Thai businesses, and a meeting with H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs. She is scheduled to witness the setting up of the HKETO in Thailand in the afternoon. 

 

      The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR will also attend the Opening Ceremony and deliver a Key Note Speech at the Thailand - Hong Kong Strategic Partnership Seminar and witness the signing of four Memoranda of Understanding between Thai and Hong Kong entities, which seek to promote further cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, SMEs and Start-ups.
