On 11 February 2019, H.E. Mrs. Busaya Mathelin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the MOU Signing Ceremony on “Integrated Operation on Public Information,” in the presence of H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-Cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, at the Outer Santi Maitree, Government House. This MOU is a collaboration among 19 Ministries and 2 Government agencies, aiming at integrating and disseminating information on Government policies and works, as well as national early warning information to the general public through extensive channels of the Ministry of Interior.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister delivered a keynote address entitled “Integrated Operation on Public Information to Local Communities for Sustainable Development.” He emphasised the need to communicate useful and simplified information to the public in rural areas, especially issues that are related to their welfare in order to ensure that they are well aware of the.Government affairs and its performance. The Prime Minister reiterated that general public is one of the most important considerations in the formulation and implementation of Government policies through the “Pracharat” (Public-Private-People Partnership) to ensure security and sustainability of the country and the people of Thailand.

This cooperation is in line with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Public Diplomacy Policy as well as the current “5S Foreign Affairs Master Plan,” particularly on the “Synergy” aspect, which has been carried out consistently to engage the public in an inclusive manner to ensure their contribution in the formulation and implementation of Thai foreign policy.
