          On 16 August 2018, Mr. Yuval Rotem, Director General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and met with H.E. Mrs. Busaya  Mathelin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

          During the courtesy call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed Thailand’s appreciation to the Government of Israel’s offer of assistance in the rescue mission of the Moo Pa (Wild Boar) Academy Football Team from Tham Luang Cave, as well as for Maxtech Networks, an Israeli company which dispatched experts and supplied innovative communication devices for the search operations. On this matter, the Israeli Director General congratulated Thailand for the success of the rescue mission.

          Both sides also discussed ways and means to promote bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interests. In terms of trade and investment, Thailand invited Israel to invest in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridors (EEC) and sought opportunities in technical cooperation from Israel’s best practices and success in the area of start-ups, science, technology and innovation, as well as agriculture and water management. The Israeli side expressed interest to increase the volume of trade and promote tourism cooperation with the Thai side.
