On 22 August 2018, behalf of the Royal Thai Government, H.E. Ms. Penprapa Vongkovit, Ambassador of Thailand to Israel made a donation of 72,654 NIS to Dr. Chezy Levy, CEO and Medical Director of Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, to support the work of the hospital and to express appreciation to the hospital for medical treatment rendered to Thai workers in the Southern area of Israel.  

          Barzilai Medical Center is a medium-size hospital with 600 beds, located in Ashkelon, southern part of Israel, around 10 km. from the Gaza strip border.  Each year, there are 200 – 300 Thai workers received medical treatment from the hospital ranging from minor illnesses to accident at work.  The hospital also provides medical services to Palestinians who live Gaza base on humanitarian basis.
