          During 8-9 August 2018, the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, invited 88 teachers and 88 students from 44 schools under the “ASEAN Library: One Province, One School” project to participate in a seminar on "Enhancing the Network of ASEAN Library" in Bangkok. The seminar was a follow-up of “ASEAN Library: One Province, One School” project, initiated by the Department of ASEAN Affairs in 2014 to provide sustainable tools of learning for students and communities, especially those in remote areas. Until now, 44 ASEAN libraries in 44 provinces have been launched.

          On 8 August 2018, invited teachers and students attended the ASEAN Day 2018 activities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Students from ASEAN Library schools were selected as youth representatives in the ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony, one of the main events of the ASEAN Day 2018, which was attended by H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, ASEAN Ambassadors, and the Ministry’s high-level officials. Afterward, teachers and students visited Bangkok City Library and ASEAN Cultural Center to learn about cultural diversity of ASEAN member countries, ways to create reading culture and improve library management, as well as the use of ICT advancements and multimedia application tools.

          On 9 August 2018, H.E. Mr. Chaisiri Anaman, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, presided over a seminar on "Enhancing the Network of ASEAN Library" at Asia Hotel, Bangkok, which was organised to deepen teachers and librarians’ understanding on a variety aspects of ASEAN and ASEAN development as well as to provide a platform for sharing best practices and ideas how to enhance utilization and development of the ASEAN Library in the future. During Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship next year, these schools under the “ASEAN Library: One Province, One School” project will play a vital role in raising awareness of ASEAN and Thailand’s Chairmanship among youths and local communities.
