The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand in association with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will jointly organise the 4th TICA Connect: Five Decades of Thailand and UNFPA Partnership: Advancing towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on 16th August 2018 at 13.00 – 16.30 hrs. at Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The objective of this forum is to showcase the success of collaboration between Thailand and the UNFPA in the past and present such as reproductive health policies, human resources development to support reproductive health policies, The Prevention and Solution of the Adolescent Pregnancy Problem Act, lesson learned from past and present collaborations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNFPA Thailand to share with other countries, and future collaboration on innovation with participation from various stakeholders to support the work on reproductive health and population development. Participants will comprise over 400 members from the diplomatic corps, counterpart agencies, both Thai and foreign with offices in Thailand, and academic institutions.
Activities will include a panel discussion on “Development of Thailand: from recipient to global partner of UNFPA” by Dr. Kittipong Saejeng, M.D., Director of the Bureau of Reproductive Health, Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Mrs. Sasitorn Wongweerachotkit, Deputy Director-General of TICA, and Dr. Soraphop Kietipongsarn M.D., Ph.D., Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, followed by the launching ceremony of UNFPA-Thailand Solution Network on Making Motherhood Safer as well as the exhibition on the success of collaboration between Thailand and UNFPA Thailand on maternal and infant hygiene.
