H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, is scheduled to visit Washington D.C., the United States, from 23 to 28 July 2018 to attend the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom and hold bilateral meetings with senior officials of the U.S. government and the Congress. 
 
Attending the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will deliver a statement and exchange views on the issue, taking into account Thailand's progress on the promotion and protection of religious freedom and its constructive roles at the regional and international levels, as well as to reaffirm Thailand’s international human rights obligations, especially in respect of freedom of religion under Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. 
 
U.S. Secretary of State has announced the hosting of the first-ever Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) and the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The meeting aims to launch efforts to promote and protect religious freedom, while inviting a broad and diverse range of relevant stakeholders.
