On 13-14 July 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm together with Team Thailand in Sweden organized the Thai Festival 2018 with the objectives to promote Thailand in all aspects.

           This year’s activities included 26 booths promoting Thai food and beverages, fruits, and various Thai products. The Embassy’s booth showcased the demonstration of Thai traditional appetizers as well as the art of Thai vegetables and fruit carving and potpourri.  The Thai Festival also featured a variety of stage performances from cultural performances to live music by members of the Thai Community in Sweden. Muay Thai contest was also successfully organized for the first time. Highlights of the festival including the lucky draws for round-trip tickets between Stockholm – Bangkok, Stockholm – Phuket and complimentary accommodations in Thailand sponsored by Thai Airways International and Tourism Authority of Thailand respectively.

           The Thai Festival is a much awaited annual event for most Swedish and all Thais in Sweden. It has played an important role in promoting Thainess to the Swedish and bringing the Thai and Swedish community closer together. This year's Festival was coincided with the celebration of 150 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Sweden. It was held with a great success, with approximately 140,000 people attended including both Swedish and Thais living in Sweden as well as visiting tourists from across the globe.
