Prime Minister of Thailand Presented Donation for Western Japan Flood Relief

In the wake of the devastating flood and landslides due to the severe rainfall that struck the western part of Japan since 5 July 2018, with death toll reaching 210, and 22 remained missing, including 4,800 still staying at evacuation shelters in 14 prefectures, and around 162,000 households still living without running water (as of 15 July 2018, at 21.00 hrs., local time), the Prime Minister of Thailand has sent condolence messages to the Prime Minister of Japan on 12 July 2018. H.E. Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, have also sent condolence messages to the Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, respectively.

In this connection, on 16 July 2018, at 09.00 hrs., the Prime Minister of Thailand presented a donation of 5 million baht (more than 16 million yen) to H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, at Purple Room, Thai Khu Fa Building, Government House, as a token of support and sympathy from the Royal Thai Government to those affected by this disaster in Japan.
