His Excellency U Win Myint, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, will pay an official visit to Thailand as Guest of the Royal Thai Government and have a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Thailand at the Government House on 14 June 2018.  Subsequently, President Win Myint will attend the 8th Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit from 15 to 16 June 2018. 

 

This is the first official visit abroad by President Win Myint following his assumption of the presidency in March 2018. The purpose of the said visit is to strengthen multi-dimensional bilateral relations between Thailand and Myanmar. As this year marks the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Myanmar, it is therefore a significant occasion for both sides to concretely enhance their “Natural Strategic Partnership.”
